TeachSnap is built for parents and caregivers — not for use directly by children. This notice explains how we comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the children's-data provisions of the EU/UK GDPR ("GDPR-K").
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children
- Account creation requires entering an email and password — something we expect a parent or caregiver to do.
- We do not ask the child for their name, photo, voice, or location. The child profile you create is for your own organization and only stores what you choose to type (typically a first name or nickname, age band, and grade).
- When a worksheet photo is processed, we strip names, emails, and phone numbers from the AI output before saving anything to our database.
- Worksheet images are not used to train AI models. They are sent only to generate the teaching script for you.
If a child somehow registered
If you believe a child under 13 (or under the digital-consent age in your country) created an account without a verifiable parent's involvement, please email [email protected]. We will delete the account and any associated worksheet data within 30 days and confirm by reply.
Parental controls
- You can delete any scan from Settings → Data & Privacy.
- You can shorten the retention window to as little as 7 days.
- You can delete every scan, script, flashcard, and weak spot at once.
- You can use TeachSnap fully anonymously without an email.
